IMPACT · FROM MATERIAL TO SYSTEM
Move beyond conventional plastic.
Preserve the experience by design.
Nacrealia is designed around what a cold-cup system must retain—clarity, secure closure and familiar store handling—while shifting the structural body to regenerated cellulose and applying a predominantly inorganic SiOₓ barrier after forming.
THE MATERIAL PROPOSITION
A simpler architecture with distinct jobs.
The formed cellulose shell provides shape and optical presentation. A thin SiOₓ layer is applied to the internal surface after forming to address liquid and vapour exposure without turning the cup into a thick polymer laminate. ShellLock™ then treats lid retention as a geometric engineering problem.
REFERENCE OBJECTS · PHOTOGRAPHED FROM THE MEDIA LIBRARY
Design from the service interface backwards.
These photographs document the incumbent customer and store interface. They are design references—not Nacrealia prototypes—and help define what the new system must preserve while changing the material architecture.
IMPACT HAS FOUR AUDIENCES
Useful change must work across the whole system.
Keep the ritual
Protect beverage visibility, neutral sensory performance and a confident drinking experience.
Respect the workflow
Design for rapid lid application, nesting, handling and cold-service reliability.
Engineer a route to scale
Use formed-sheet conversion logic, controlled drying and post-forming barrier deposition.
Verify the destination
Test the complete article in relevant collection and fibre-recovery scenarios before making claims.
EVIDENCE BEFORE CLAIMS
Measure the impact we intend to create.
Nacrealia’s impact case will be built from verified mass, process energy, yield, logistics and recovery data—not from the appearance of the concept.
A CREDIBLE PATH TO SCALE
Make the decision gates visible.
Optical quality, cold-liquid hold, closure retention, sensory neutrality, food-contact safety and manufacturing compatibility form the evidence chain. The validation programme turns ambition into an investable sequence.
